Another one bites the dust….

Well… Another season has come to a close. I have to say for multiple reasons this has by far been one of the best seasons I have had since coaching at Henry Sibley. The girls on the team had great attitudes throughout the entire season. Everyone worked hard, and grew to their highest potential! We set goals throughout the season and many of the goals were met! Coaching is incredibly easy and enjoyable when you have athletes who are excited and are determined to persevere!  Thank you for everyone who was a part of our team! Thank you to everyone who came yesterday to help take the equipment down.

The gym is back to its normal state-

NOW- is where the hard work starts! Now is the time to begin preparing for next year. Our season is only 3 months long. You now have 9 months to continue building your strength, flexibility and skills. NOW IS THE TIME. I know some of you might do spring sports, or want to take time off, or not know where to go but I would highly encourage you to continue gymnastics throughout this off season. Track is a great spring sport- it is a great way to keep up your endurance. Take some time off, but then get right back into it within a couple weeks. Ask the coaches or older girls if you don’t know where to start taking classes. We are here to help, and to push and to build everyone up to be their best! We have to put the work in now in order to see results later! We are planning to have the gym up this summer with some exciting things happening! Please don’t wait to hear from us- get started now. The gym will not be up until the middle of June- and there is work to be done before that! Let me know if you need any help finding a gym to practice at! I would be happy to help 🙂 d265c952cb865b6c7e14540b888f9ddf e7eec5d1b632ffb1831e7a538939cf5e 5546e04e222bead9951c23e3c06292a4 688b61641af885046f53aa4cf33c86dd fc567f6a71a51cf7b28ed5b92f7953a9 79e8d5ad49ba22fd1d7d7d9572243340train insane

Success at State!

This past weekend was the MN Gymnastics State Tournament. It was a great weekend filled some amazing gymnastics! The teams that won were Roseville High school for 2AA and Detroit Lakes for 1A. The individual competition was on Saturday. Sophie qualified and competed in the Individual 2AA Vault Competition. It was a long night! Warms up were around 3:30, and then our rotation for warm ups on the vault was not until 5:45. After watching and waiting Section 3AA competed on Vault at 9:30pm. Sophie came out after all that time and rocked it! It was awesome. She threw her Yurchenko Layout for the first time and nailed it! She scored a 9.625 and placed 6th!! There were about 50 other competitors from across the state. We are very proud of her success and representing Henry Sibley at the State Tournament.

Sections and State!

Hey Everyone! Hope you all had a nice weekend! CONGRATULATIONS to our Varsity Team and Sophie! The team had a FABULOUS meet last friday. We had a team high score of 127, which was our goal! The coaches are very proud they met their goal! Sophie qualified for the State meet in Vault with a score of 9.575. The Individual state competition is this coming Saturday at the U of M pavilion from 6-9pm. We will not be traveling as a team down to the State competition, as no one is allowed on the floor except for the competing athletes and coaches. I hope that you will come and support her and watch the competition! If you have any questions about when and where, please contact me. Things coming up for the ENTIRE team-

1. I need you to VOTE for Banquet Awards-  Over on the left hand side there is a link titled “Voting for Banquet Awards” – please take some time, to fill out this form. This is to vote for the awards that will be given out at the Banquet.

2. I need to know how many people you will be bringing to the banquet. Athletes will not have to pay for the banquet. I do not have a price for parents or siblings at this point. The number of people coming will help determine that. Please click on Banquet Attendance to the left, and fill out the form to tell me who and how many people will be attending.

3. Gym Take Down- We will be taking down the gym on Tuesday February 23rd. Please plan to be there from 3:30-5:30. We need all the help we can get! Thanks!! Jen
